It’s a big night at Stade Saputo. CF Montréal host Forge FC of the Canadian Premier League in the 2026 Canadian Championship final tonight, chasing the club’s sixth Voyageurs Cup and its first since 2021, according to MLSsoccer.com.
How to Watch
- When: Tonight, Wednesday, Oct. 21, at 7 p.m. ET
- Where: Stade Saputo, Montréal
- TV/stream (Canada): TSN and OneSoccer
- If tied: extra time and, if needed, penalties
What’s at Stake
The winner lifts the Voyageurs Cup and qualifies for the 2027 Concacaf Champions Cup. For a Montréal side that has struggled in MLS play this season, a trophy would salvage the year.
Montréal’s Road to the Final
- Preliminary round: 5-0 vs. Calgary Blizzard SC
- Quarterfinals: 4-2 on aggregate vs. Vancouver FC
- Semifinals: 3-2 on aggregate vs. the Vancouver Whitecaps, the four-time defending champions
Against Vancouver, Dani Pereira scored a long-range stunner in the first leg and Prince Owusu scored twice in the second. Owusu has 15 goals and 5 assists in MLS this season, and veteran star Alexis Sánchez gives Montréal big-game experience.
Meet Forge FC
Forge sit second in the CPL table with 57 points and are playing in their second-ever Canadian Championship final. They reached the 2020 final, played in 2022 because of the pandemic, and lost to Toronto FC on penalties. Key players include former Whitecaps forwards Lucas Cavallini and Levonte Johnson and midfielder Tristan Borges.
