With Halloween quickly approaching, you may be searching for fun activities* to experience with friends and family. The following will provide a few of Autumn’s festive Halloween events in Montreal, ranging from family-friendly outings to spookier events for those who may not be scared so easily.

Halloween Shivers at the Jardin Botanique (French Only)
“For Halloween, discover a fantasy world that exists alongside our own… at the Jardin botanique.”

Outdoor Maze
Daily: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The bewitched maze of Kalbacius is home to the most original and uncontrollable creatures. Will you have the guts to find where they’re hiding among the shadows?
Greenhouse (There’s magic in the plants!)
Daily: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Jardin Botanique’s Main Greenhouse has been turned into a magical place for Halloween! Kalbacius and Petiole, the sorcerers, live among whimsical creatures.
Animations
Daily: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Learn to use a magic wand and find out what type of magic the pumpkins have!
Potion Workshop
Every 30 minutes from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
If you’re a fan of the potions used in Harry Potter, this potion workshop that showcases plants and the power of imagination may be for you!
KOWAI! Scary Stories… at the Japanese Pavilion
Monday to Friday: 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday: 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.
Recommended for ages 4 to 8, learn about the Japanese folklore that consists of scary characters. From ogres to witches, and spirits to demons, Kamishibai, the art of Japanese paper theater will provide the family with fun entertainment.
Même Pas Peur!
Location: Jardin Botanique Auditorium
Running Time: 25 minutes
This year, the Jardin Botanique is offering a new show, Même pas peur! featuring Blandine (a cute squash). The show will provide children (recommended for ages 4-8) with a story that involves learning about courage in the face of fear.
Espace Pour La Vie
“Inside the Main Greenhouse, Petiole is convinced that magic is for everyone, but Kalbacius disagrees. Can the children convince him otherwise? Will they know how to use the magic wand? Maybe they’ll have to attend the potions workshop first, or summon up all their courage to navigate the all-new outdoor maze!” – Espace Pour La Vie
Tickets
You can book your tickets to Même pas peur! online. A ticket guarantees a seat for the show and gives you access to the Jardin Botanique (not including the Gardens of Light). The tickets also provide access to the rest of the Halloween Shivers programming on the same day. Reservations for groups are recommended.
Notre-Dame Street Candy Hunt
Date: October 25th, 6PM
Location: Rue Notre-Dame between 6e and 18e avenue, Lachine
The annual event is back for those of all ages who wish to collect candyand enjoy entertainment. With a DJ, live band and a photobooth on-site, there’s fun for the whole family. Crossover Comics Halloween Giveaway and Anniversary Sale
Date: October 25th-27th
Location: 3560 Notre-Dame St W, Montreal, QC H4C 1P4
It’s a big weekend for Crossover Comics! Not only are they celebrating their 12th anniversary, but they’re also hosting their Halloween events!
On Saturday, October 26 from 11AM to 5PM, there will be free Halloween comics and goodies for all ages on a first-come, first-serve basis while supplies last. Saint Raymond’s Annual Haunted House
Date: October 26th, 1:00 to 7:00 PM

Shawny’s Little Monster Mash- A Musical Halloween Show for Kids
Date: October 27 at 11:00 AM
Location: Phoenix Books, 5928 Sherbrooke St. W., NDG
Join Shawny for a spooktacular time at The Little Monster Mash—a FREE musical Halloween show designed just for kids! Sing, dance, and laugh along to Shawny’s playful and interactive tunes.
Perfect for children up to 5 years of age, it’s a non-scary concert full of songs and Halloween surprises. It’s the perfect way to show off the young trick-or-treater’s costumes and celebrate the festive occasion!
Adult Events
Halloween Beneath the Chapel
Date: October 25, 7PM- 12PM
Location: 4949 Rue de Verdun, Montréal, QC (Entrance on the side of 5th Avenue)
Tickets are $25 at the door, $20 if you’re in costume.
A concert of Aligo, Welltones and Old Soul music in the basement of a church- it sounds like the perfect Halloween vibes! There will also be tarot readings, tattoo artists, face painting, and live murals being done on -site. Dress up and BYOB to have a fun evening!
Halloween 80’s Universal Dance Studio
Date: October 25, 7:30PM- 1AM
Location: 3429 Rue Notre-Dame O, Montreal, QC
Doors open at 7 pm with the event beginning at 7:30 pm with a Surprise Drop-In class to learn the new dance moves. At 8:30 pm you can meet the other guests at the cocktail bar and have a drink or two while catching up with any friends you go with.
After the class, catered finger foods from Sonya & Maria Catering will be provided, along with music to dance to, thanks to DJ Randolph Graham. There will be professional dance performances and general entertainment for everyone in attendance, including games and prizes.
Dress with those neon baggy clothes. Don’t hesitate to FLASH!! That’s the best time to do so.

Villains Only: Halloween Edition
Date : October 26 at 8pm – October 27 at 3am
Location: 1412 Rue Sainte-Elisabeth Montréal, QC H2X 1L4
Whether it’s a villain from a TV series or a movie, come dress up and experience Villains Only: Halloween Edition night at Pub Le Sainte-Élisabeth. With burlesque performances, DJ sets, karaoke and freestyle competitions, prizes for best in character, $7.50 pints all night, and many other surprises, there’s something for every adult. Tickets are very limited, so act fast!
The Rocky Horror Picture Show – SOLD OUT
Gather to watch the cult classic film and be prepared for the audience to participate! While this event is unfortunately sold out, we couldn’t resist having it on our list as this is such a well-known event. As the largest Rocky Horror Picture Show event in North America, this is the ONLY Montreal event being offered (no wonder tickets were sold out in no time).

Halloween House Party by Montreal Buzz Events
Date: October 31, 7 PM-11 PM
Location: 998 Rue Notre Dame Lachine
If you’re looking for a more casual event, Montreal Buzz Events is hosting a Halloween house party. With live performances by talented Indie/Alternative Rock Montreal bands and good food, you can celebrate Halloween and discover new artists all under the same roof.
The featured artists include The StormAlexis, Pacer, Room 10, Simply Brick, and Beats on Noise. There will also be oriental food including, Bahn Mi sandwiches (vegetarian option available) and snacks offered.
General admission is $15 and General Admission with food is $20. The dress code is casual and Halloween inspired.
The Dark Eighties Halloween Party
Date: October 31st, 9PM-3AM
Location: Cabaret Berlin, 1982 Rue Sainte-Catherine E, Montréal
Have fun at Cabaret Berlin’s Halloween costume party (costumes are mandatory)! You can expect to hear cult 80s hits, goth, synth pop, italo disco, dark wave, cold wave, EBM, Industrial, Post Punk, New Romantics, and much more. Witches’ Night Out – Halloween at Pointe-à-Callière
Date: October 31st, 7PM-1AM
Location: Pointe-à-Callière, 350 Pl. Royale, Montréal, QC H2Y 3Y5
Enjoy an evening dedicated to witches at Pointe-à-Callière! It is a festive evening honoring witches, offering an immersive experience through the Museum’s archaeological remains.
Throughout the night, visitors will see:
- The new exhibition Witches: Out of the Shadows
- Meet witches on an immersive journey through the archaeological remains
- Activities and workshops: Divination practices (tarot card reading, astrology, and prognostication), Rituals of enchantment and protection (potions, dreamcatchers, herbalism)
- DJ, artistic performances (Royale T dance troupe), themed cocktail bar
- Photobooth and gift shop
