Every year for three days, Le Palais des Congrès de Montréal (1001, Place Jean-Paul-Riopelle, Montréal, QC) hosts the Montreal Comiccon- a multi-genre pop-culture fan convention for those of all ages.
Running from Friday, July 5 to Sunday, July 7th, fans can meet their favorite comic creators and sci-fi and fantasy authors. That’s not all! The creative teams that bring their favorite movie and TV show characters to life will be there too!
From hosting television and film actors to the voice actors of some of our most beloved heroes (and villains), it’s no wonder it has been one of the most popular events in Montreal since 2009. This year’s event is no different- it is already promising to be one for the books! After all, we’re celebrating important anniversaries of Wolverine, A Nightmare on Elmstreet, and The Phantom Menace, just to name a few.
Special Guests
One of the most exciting aspects of Comiccon is the opportunity to meet the talent behind the characters we see both on the large and small screens. The list of past guests includes Michael Rooker, Gillian Anderson, Patrick Stewart, Billy Boyd, Christopher Lloyd, Nathan Fillion, William Shatner, Carl Weathers, Billy Dee Williams, and the great Stan Lee himself.
This year’s guest list won’t disappoint, either! Here are some of the Montreal Comiccon guests of 2024:
- Brent Spiner
- Kevin Smith
- Robert Englund

The full list of guests is also on the Comiccon 2024 Schedule. As you look through the list, it feels like it goes on forever which just goes to show how big of an event it is!
Cosplay
Another exciting part of Comiccon is the chance for attendees to dress up as their favorite characters. Cosplay (“costume” and “roleplay” combined) has become increasingly popular over the years. You’ll be amazed by how impressive many of the cosplay outfits are!
Cosplay Meetups
At all of the Comiccon events last year, hosts decided to experiment with what they call “Cosplay Meetups”. These are an open call to cosplayers to meet with fellow cosplayers for themed photo sessions. If you’re interested, please fill out this form to have your group suggestions taken into account.
Cosplay Rules
Fans and photographers are welcome to take pictures. However, there are new rules! Including, what is safe to wear and what will not be permitted. This is merely to protect the safety of all guests. Please take the time to read these rules to ensure a fun experience is had by all!
Masquerade*
The Masquerade (held at 6:30 PM on Saturday) is Comiccon’s version of a non-professional costume competition. Entrants are encouraged to wear costumes inspired by comic books, movies, Japanese animation, video games, or any popular fandom.
*All of the spots are currently filled; you can email mascarade@montrealcomiccon.com to be placed on the waiting list.
