With Just for Laughs cancelling their Montreal and Toronto festivals earlier this year due to its “financial woes” as reported by Global News, comedy fans were unsure if there would be anything to look forward to during the Summer season. Luckily, ComediHa! is coming to the rescue.
From July 18th to 28th, Montreal’s Quartier des Spectacles is hosting the ComediHa! Fest. Various shows will be held at the Vidéotron stage for Les Évènements Loto-Québec along with other 100% free shows at La Place des Festivals.
Afterwards, the fun will continue on to Quebec from August 1st to August 24th. The line-up is quite impressive and there is something for everyone; let’s take a look to see who will be performing!

ComediHa! will be held at at Place des Festivals (free admission) at 1499 Rue Jeanne-Mance and Place des Arts (pass or single ticket).

Thursday, July 18th
7 PM:
- For over an hour, Jean-Michel Martel will use visual and surreal humour with the help from visual and burlesque aids.
- Le Kickback (Free Entrance) Scène Vidéotron: From Thursday to Sunday at 7pm, hosts Eva Alexo and Erika Suarez will welcome both English and French comedians who will bring music and laughter with them. (You’ll even have the chance to win show tickets!)

- Moi et l’autre Théâtre du Vieux-Terrebonne: Written by best-selling author Kim Lévesque Lizotte, Moi et l’autre takes place on the dawn of Expo 67. In a time of cultural change and women’s liberation, we follow two friends who are experiencing all that this entails.
- Waitress Espace St Denis: The story of Jenna, a diner waitress from a small town who rediscovers parts of herself after entering a baking competition. With themes of friendship and following our dreams, audiences are known to go back and forth between laughter and tears throughout the show. (Waitress is running over multiple days of the festival; check the official schedule for all of the showtimes).
Friday, July 19th
7 PM:
- Jean-Marc Parent Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier:JMP is known for being a storyteller as much as he is a comedian. With the help of a DJ, his observations on life have been relatable enough to make crowds roar with laughter.
- Rachelle Elie Salle Claude-Léveillée: A Mom who has honed her craft for many years in the English comedy scene, Rachelle Elie now performs in French to be able to bring even more of her audience to a state of laughter.
8:15 PM:
- Stand-up with Pascal Cameron Scène Vidéotron: Enjoy the comedy of three stand-up comedians in the outdoor air, hosted by Pascal Cameron.
Other performances of the evening include Rachelle Elie, and Queer and Friends hosted by Katherine Levac.
Saturday, July 20th
7 PM:
- Bassem Youssef Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier: Said to be the Egyptian Jon Stewart, Bassem Youssef has gone from heart surgeon to the host of the “largest political satire show in the history of the Arab world”.
- Josiane Aubuchon Salle Claude-Léveillée: Have you ever had a life experience that made you think, “This would be the perfect comedy routine”? Josianne Aubuchon has! Hear all about her experience that became comedic gold
Sunday, July 21st
7 PM:
- Richardson Zéphir Salle Claude-Léveillée: Come see the star of Le Dingo des lingots as he launches his highly anticipated new show!
9:15 PM:
- Generation Stand-Up Scène Vidéotron (place des Festivals): Adib Alkhalidey, Matthieu Pepper, Mona de Grenoble, Korine Côté, Liliane Blanco-Binette, Yannick de Martino, Jo Cormier, and P-O Forget are all on a mission to perfect the art of stand-up comedy. By attending this free show, you’ll be able to say that you’ve seen some of the up-and-coming comedians of the latest generation.
Thursday, July 25th
7 PM:
- Marito Lopez Salle Claude-Léveillée: Featured at every festival across Canada, and seen/heard on CTV’s ‘Roast Battle Canada’, CBC Radio’s ‘The Debaters’ and ‘Laugh Out Loud’, Marito Lopez is one of Canada’s top headlining acts.
9:15 PM:
- Carte Blanche with Arnaud Soly Scène Vidéotron: Joined by Alexandre Barrettes, Anas Hassouna, Douaa Kachache, Mibenson Sylvain, Mona de Grenoble and Maude Landry, Arnauld Soly will have endless amount of laughs coming your way.
Friday, July 26th
7 PM:
- Hassan Phills Salle Claude-Léveillée: From viral videos making their way through social media to being set to appear in Crave’s Original Series “The Office Movers”, we’ll be seeing more and more of Hassan Phills from this point on.
- The Soda Series Club Soda: Comedians Nathan Macintosh, Erin Jackson, Vladimir Caamano, Brandon Ash-Mohommed, Moody McCarthy, and many more are coming together for 3 performances. You’ve seen them on Netflix, The Tonight Show, Comedy Central, America’s Got Talent, CBS’s The Late Show, and now they’re coming to Quebec!
10 PM:
- Moins Loin Que St-Tite Scène Vidéotron: Hosted by Pascal Morrissette with guests Mathieu Dufour, Yoan, Mitsou and Laurence Nerbonne, the night is going to not only be full of laughs but it’s going full-on country too!
10:30 PM:
- Comedy Records Presents Comedy Nest: If you recognize some of the comedians performing this night at the Comedy Nest, you’ve probably heard them on iTunes! An assortment of comedians will be taking the stage to end your night on the right note.

- Dane Cook Scène Vidéotron: Comedian and actor Dane Cook has been on the comedy scene for nearly 20 years. With multiple stand-up specials and movies under his belt, he quickly became a household name back in 2006. Now, he’s back in Montreal for ComediHa!
