♦ We Call It Ballet: Sleeping Beauty

Spend an hour at the Rialto Theatre! Become mesmerized by dancers in glow-in-the-dark costumes as they bring the classic tale of Sleeping Beauty to life. You may know the story, but you’ve never experienced it being told in this format.
Created by María Farelo and Cristian Pérez., the show offers a reimagined tale using classical dance and modern technology. The phosphorescent costumes help emphasize the artistry of the choreography. You’ll wish that the experience lasted longer than an hour.
The intermission-free performance is being performed at the Rialto Theatre. At the time of this publication, the remaining tickets were selling for $48-$70. The minimum age is 8 years old, and anyone under 16 must have an adult accompanying them. The hall is wheelchair accessible and the seats are provided on a first-come, first-serve basis. The doors open an hour before the concert begins with no late arrivals tolerated.
What could be more perfect for a Valentine’s Day show than a princess being awakened by her true love’s kiss? Tickets can be purchased here.

Dining
If you’re a foodie or wish to celebrate Valentine’s Day in a gastronomic way, there are limitless restaurants in Montreal. Here are a few restaurants in Montreal and surrounding areas that suit the special occasion.
Note: We would recommend many other restaurants but most of them were already fully booked for Valentine’s Day/night. The ones listed still had space available when this post went live. Reservations are being made quickly so act fast!
♦ La Catrina
Do you wish you could be in Mexico for Valentine’s Day? Be transported to Mexico by dining at La Catrina! It’s a great spot to have a relaxed taco party with friends. Yet, it’s also a great spot to enjoy a romantic dinner. Traditional Mexican cooking techniques are combined with local seasonal produce to provide guests with deliciously fresh dishes.
The Valentine’s Day menus can be seen here for the Mile End location and here for their Old Port location. Mixologists also provide a menu of cocktails that feature a collection of privately imported mezcal and tequila. This includes exclusive margaritas, of course!
As shown above, they have two locations. One is located in the Mile End (5490 Boulevard Saint-Laurent). The other, is in the Old Port (119 Rue de la Commune Ouest). Thankfully, since there are two locations, you’ll have a better chance of booking your Valentine’s Day table.
Reservations can be made online by clicking the “Reservation” button on their website here. Or, by calling 514-543-7172. (Press option 1 for the Old Port location and option 2 for the Mile-End location). You may also email them at info@restaurantlacatrina.ca

Did you think we were going to omit a sushi restaurant recommendation for Valentine’s Day?! Of course not! With three restaurants in Quebec, Bloom Sushi is a great option for those who love sushi. Diners are constantly leaving raving reviews about their gluten-free and vegetarian dish offerings. After one look at the full menu for their Montreal restaurant located at 368 Saint-Paul W. Street, we can see why!
Their starters include Arancini and Crispy Gyoza. And the main courses cover every sushi fan’s must-haves. It’s the perfect place to enjoy a sushi combo. Or, let’s indulge a bit! A 32-, 54-, or 72-piece platter is enough for two, right? Cocktails, beers, and kombucha are also available to complement the meal. Dessert is covered too! A dessert maki, brownie, or “Flavor of the moment” ice cream will be the perfect way to end the meal.
Call (514) 906-2005 or make a reservation online while seating is available! You can also take a look at their Instagram page if you need more convincing to go. (We doubt this will be necessary).
